It's all real. It's all happening. He's getting on his plane shortly and will be in California in the morning.
I am sad to close this chapter in my life, but so excited for what's in store.

4 more sleeps
I had a bit of a set back the other day with my car. I got into an accident. Way to go, Kayla. Oh well. I'm not dwelling. My car has basically been fixed, I'm just $400 poorer now. I was told I need to slow down. I'm trying. I just feel like I have 10 days worth of stuff to do in 3 days. I need help and I need a motivator. I also need a nap. That sounds counterproductive, I suppose.
I just want all my packing done. All the cleaning done. I just want it to be 10 am on Wednesday.

Goodbyes
I said what seemed like a lot of goodbyes today.
I went by my old place of work and said goodbye to my old coworkers. They have all been so lovely and supportive. I went to see my mother and father in law. That was a hard set of goodbyes to say. I love them dearly and so appreciate everything they have done for me. I said goodbye to two good lady friends over dinner.
I am truly tired of saying goodbyes. I know it's necessary, but it is also emotionally draining.
I have a lot to do tomorrow. Lots of packing and cleaning.
Mike will be here in 6 days. I am so excited.

busy!
Today was a busy and productive day.
I got new tires put on my car! I probably needed tires anyway, but apparently these are nice fancy tires that will make it so I don't crash and burn and die a horrible death in the snow. I have no idea, so I am just going on my Dad and Mike's approval here. They wouldn't steer me wrong (See what I did there? Steer...Cars...ha. ha).
Mike got his vacation time approved so he can fly down here and drive up with me. This is awesome because if left to my own devices I would likely wind up in China or something. Mike also went and put the deposit in for our apartment. Meaning I have a place to live in Alaska now! Big load off my mind. I was afraid I would be sleeping in my car. Or in an Igloo, because that is what I think all Alaskans do. They all ride moose to work and live in igloos. I am, perhaps, in for a rude awakening.
Tonight I'll be hunting on Amazon for stuff to bring along on the road trip. Anyone else done a big road trip before? Any things that are a MUST bring along? Do tell.

Before the trip
No introduction post here, because frankly, if you are reading this you should know who I am.
But here are the basics.
And dear friends, thank you for loving and supporting me through this. Without all of your kind words and advice I don't know if I would have the strength to make this move. I will miss you all dearly when I go, but I am merely a plane ride away (or if you're crazy like me, a 3,000 mile road trip!)
But here are the basics.
- Countdown to road trip is about 8 days right now.
- Mike and I will be driving from Danville, CA to Anchorage, AK with a few stops along the way.
- We are driving my little 2007 Honda Fit named Louise (Weezy for short).
- I am only bringing things that will fit in my car. No trailer to lug behind us.
- I will be chronicaling our trip to the best of my ability using cameras (nice ones and my shitty iphone camera), video camera (my Flip) and this blog.
- I have never driven for more than 7ish hours before, so this will be interesting for me. You should also pray that Mike does not want to slaughter me by the end of the trip. Really. O_o
